About the course
The course focuses on the role of the project manager or project leader in the organization and how their actions impact the success of the project and ultimately the firm. This course is designed to teach the business skills necessary for a project management professional to be a true business partner. These skills include running the project as a business, effective contractor/vendor negotiations, managing internal stakeholders, managing teams, etc. Exercises included decision-making scenarios as well as conflict management in difficult contractor situations. Participants will use a self-assessment conflict management diagnostic tool to help them assess the best approach to handling difficult situations. Participants will also use an Emotional Intelligence diagnostic tool to assess their leadership skills. Results of both of these assessment tools are used as a part of the case studies as well as to generate an individual self-improvement plan.
