About
This awareness-level training series provides engineers with a foundational understanding of how refinery and petrochemical laboratories ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and safe, efficient operations. It also provides lab personnel with a satellite view of the complete lab management and the pivotal role it plays within the whole refinery or petrochemical plant. The courses introduce essential QA/QC principles, laboratory workflows, sampling practices, and analytical techniques used across the industry. Engineers gain practical insight into how laboratory outputs support process optimization, troubleshooting, commercial transactions, and dispute resolution—while also learning where their own engineering roles intersect with laboratory responsibilities. Conversely, lab personnel learn where cooperation with plant personnel and management is essential for the best overall performance.
Candidates can take the following self-paced eLearning courses individually or as a 10-hour series. A Continuing Education Units (CEU) certificate is issued upon completion.
Target Audience
Process and plant engineers, planning and economics engineers, inspection engineers, HSE engineers, maintenance engineers and supervisors, laboratory managers, supervisors, and technicians, turnaround planners, and operation supervisors.
