|This four-day advanced coalbed methane (CBM) / coal seam gas (CSG) course is designed to present attendees with the most current analysis techniques developed by industry for application to CBM reservoirs. The class will cover a full range of integrated topics ranging from characterization of the coals through data collection and testing, drilling and completion, reservoir engineering, pilot design and production management strategies. CBM Resource and Reserve guidelines are developed so that the attendee can best design field development plans. A set of course notes is provided, including problems and solutions developed from actual CBM data sets. This course is designed for technical and managerial staff who desire a comprehensive understanding of the state of the art analysis techniques currently being used to assess and evaluate CBM reservoirs worldwide.|

You Will Learn:
MR. JEFFREY ALDRICH is a Vice President and Senior Geoscientist with MHA Petroleum Consultants Inc., a Denver-based petroleum consulting firm. He has over 30 years of global oil and gas experience working from frontier exploration through appraisal and large development projects. His expertise is in unconventional reservoirs, prospect evaluation, reserve determinations and multi-discipline and multi-culture team dynamics. Prior to joining MHA, he held various management and technical positions with Dart Energy, an Australian global unconventional gas company, Greenpark Energy, a UK CBM company, PetroSA, the South African national oil company, Forest Oil, Maxus Energy and Pennzoil Oil and Gas Company. He has a BS in Geology from Vanderbilt University and an MS in Geology from Texas A&M University. He is an active member in the AAPG, SPE, RMAG, DWLS, DIPS and is a Certified Petroleum Geologist (#3791). He is author or co-author of over 25 papers and/or technical presentations.
MR. TIMOTHY HOWER is President of Malkewicz Hueni Associates, Inc., (MHA) a Denver based petroleum-consulting firm. Mr. Hower has over 22 years of petroleum engineering experience and has conducted numerous evaluations of coal seam and coal mine methane projects in North America, Europe and Australia. For the past 6 years, Tim has been the recognized industry expert in the Powder River Basin coal seam methane play working directly with the operators and the State of Wyoming on optimizing field development planning. Mr. Hower has authored numerous technical papers, he has co-authored Managing Water-Drive Gas Reservoirs, a textbook published by the Gas Research Institute, and he has been directly involved in the development and instruction of technical training courses for BP and Shell staff worldwide. Mr. Hower received his BSc and MSc degrees in petroleum engineering from Penn State University in 1981 and 1983, respectively. He has served as Chairman of the Denver SPE section in 2001/2002 and was recently presented with the SPE Henry Mattson Technical Service Award for innovative contributions in the field of engineering of gas reservoirs.
